It waits in the corner, not in your face.
One toast slides in when someone you follow posts — right where macOS notifications already live. Glance at it, and it's gone.
Golden hour from the studio window today. 🌇
Signal, not noise.
Everything X's own notifications get wrong, fixed. No algorithm, no ads, no rabbit holes.
Only who you follow
A structural filter strips ads, promoted posts and "suggested for you" noise. You only hear from the accounts you actually chose.
A calm blue dot
New posts arrive as a clean toast in the corner of your screen. Read it, dismiss it, move on. There's no feed to fall into.
Set your own pace
Choose how often it checks, where toasts appear, how tall they are — and pause everything with one click when you need to focus.
Lives in your menu bar
A tiny native app that launches at login and sips battery. No browser tab, no extension, no account required.
Three steps. Then forget it's there.
Download & sign in
Install the app and log in to X once, in a secure window. Your credentials never leave your Mac.
It watches quietly
Xtension checks your Following timeline in the background, on the interval you choose. No window, no distraction.
You get the tap
The instant someone you follow posts, a clean toast slides in. Glance, dismiss, back to work.
Tune it once. Then it stays out of your way.
Every part of how Xtension interrupts you is yours to set.
- Pick the corner. Top or bottom, left or right — wherever your eyes already go.
- Set the rhythm. Check every 15, 30, 60 or 120 seconds. Fresher posts, or lighter on battery.
- Control the size. Show the full post, or clamp long ones to a fixed height with a scroll.
- Auto-translate. Read posts in any language, translated the moment they arrive.
